Welcome to part 2 of the, “Remember Who You Are” series.
Last week we discussed, “What’s stopping you?” What’s stopping you from:
- activating your gifts;
- remembering who you are;
- being confident in your calling; and
- walking boldly in your purpose.
If you have completed last week’s homework you would have taken some of the scriptures that we discussed and placed them on your wall, desk, mirror…basically, wherever they can be easily seen so that you can remember and declare the promises of God in your life.
If you forgot to do your homework or haven’t had the chance to read last week’s article, stop here and go back to last week’s article.
Today’s post is entitled, “Who are you?”
Who are you?
I am looking for the powerful woman of God…is she there?
Is she still on the inside of you or have you forgotten her?
The little girl with all the spunk, fire and happiness. The little girl who believed that she could do anything she wanted because she believed that everything was possible. The little girl who could not wait to grow up to become a powerful woman who would do extraordinary things in her community and in the world.
Yes, she has become a woman but not the woman who she (that little girl) had dreamed of becoming. She is not walking in the fullness of the vision that she had as a little girl.
Your insecurities, doubt, complacency and desire to be, “just comfortable” have taken over and you have stopped living life to the fullest. You have settled with being just, ‘okay’ because you have become afraid and too lazy to step out of your comfort and move forward.
Somewhere along life’s journey a seed of negativity took root and you compromised the vision of being your greatest you, to becoming ‘just’ you.
Yep, you no longer feel like that young girl who was ready to take on the world. Instead you now find yourself stuck.
- Stuck in a dead-end job that you hate;
- Stuck in a relationship that doesn’t produce growth;
- Stuck playing small;
- Stuck in depression;
- Stuck in a world where everyone has moved, and you are stuck in the same place;
- Stuck not knowing your purpose;
- Stuck not pursing your passion; and
- Stuck not knowing what you are fully capable of.
Now, the place that you have found yourself in is not scary. You have taken this place and made it your home. You have set up camp and you are comfortable.
You have reached a point where you no longer want to move from this stagnant place because you are afraid of stepping out of your comfort and moving to a place where you know that you will be forced to grow.
Why do you feel stuck?
You feel and get stuck when you are out of alignment with the assignment that God has placed on your life. You get out of alignment because you have forgotten who you are and who God has called you to be. It’s time to rediscover your spark, it’s time to shine!
I’m here to pull you out of that place and remind you of who you are. You are capable of so much more than you can even imagine.
As of right now, the ball is in your court! It is up to you to decide if you want to remain in that, ‘stuck place’ or if you want to step into the truth/light of who God has called you to be.
You can have and experience so much more than that, ‘stuck place’ you are currently living in.
You have started this series because it is time. God is calling you to position yourself so that you can fulfil your purpose. It is time to transform your mind-set, get out of your, ‘stuck place’ so that can finally become the woman you are meant to be.
No longer do you have to allow your, ‘stuck place’, your self-doubt, and your insecurities to hold you back. Do not let the, ‘stuck place’ define you or where you are going.
You can DECIDE – right here and right now – to have a different life.
You can BEGIN – right now to remember who you are.
Remember that little girl inside of you, the one who believed anything is possible, the one who believed that she could be whoever she wanted to be, the one who was filled with fire and excitement – Let’s go back and get her. She is still there but you have forgotten who she is. Firstly, she is you let me remind you of who you are.
- A Child of God
- A Trailblazer
- Beautiful and wonderfully made

This is not just me looking for adjectives to describe you Woman of God, let us read:
Deuteronomy 28 (NIV) Says:
If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
3 You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country.
4 The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks.
5 Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed.
6 You will be blessed when you come in and blessedwhen you go out.
7 The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.
8 The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.
9 The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. 10 Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. 11 The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you.
12 The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.
Once you get in alignment with your purpose, with who God called you to be, the blessings of the Lord will overcome you. So, do not be afraid to dream BIG! He has given you those ideas and visions. Move forward BOLDLY and watch how He blesses you!
